Updating & downgrading

  1. Back up the server, worlds included.
  2. Stop the server.
  3. Replace the Mekanized jar, and MachineEngine's if the new version needs it.
  4. Start the server, then run /ce reload all so players get the new resource pack.

Your edited files are kept​

Mekanized replaces its files (CraftEngine content, definitions, menus) only if you have not edited them. An edited file is kept, and the log says so.

To get the new version of a file you edited, delete it and restart; then make your changes again. Mekanized keeps a fingerprint of each file it installed in plugins/Mekanized/installed.properties, to tell your edits from its own.

config.yml is different: new settings are written into your file at the next start, with their comments; your values and comments stay.

Removing Mekanized​

Its machines stay in the world as MachineEngine placeholders, with their data, and come back if Mekanized is installed again — see MachineEngine's updating page.

Downgrading​

Not tested. Restore the backup made before updating.
