Server
- Paper or Folia. Spigot and Bukkit are not supported: MachineEngine uses Paper's API throughout.
- Minecraft 1.20.6 to 26.3, from one jar. It is tested on Paper 1.20.6 and 26.3, and on Folia 1.20.6 and 26.2.
- Java 21 for Minecraft 1.20.6, Java 25 for 26.x (what Paper itself requires).

MachineEngine refuses to start without CraftEngine: Paper does not load it, and
if CraftEngine is present but disabled, MachineEngine logs
CraftEngine is required but is not enabled and disables itself.
CraftEngine version
This release is built against CraftEngine's development snapshot 26.10. If a
published CraftEngine release does not work with it, check the
issues before reporting a new
one.
Players
Players need no mod. They do need CraftEngine's resource pack: it draws the machine blocks, items and the textured machine menus. Make CraftEngine send it as required, or players without it see plain blocks and broken menus.
